NPD analyst Mat Piscatella has given some post-E3 predictions for the rest of 2019. Piscatella says that “Nintendo backed up its current position as market leader with a targeted blast of upcoming content that will likely solidify it for at least the next 18 months, if not longer”. Piscatella called the Nintendo Switch “the most important piece of Video Game hardware in the market right now”.
As for sales, Piscatella expects the strong sales of the Switch to continue. In fact, the NPD analyst expects Pokemon Sword and Shield to “drive both significant software and hardware sales volume”, and he also predicts that Nintendo will finish the year as 2019’s best-selling software publisher.
