Here are Some Xbox One S Bundles Cheaper Than the New All-Digital Edition

If you buy something through this post, IGN may get a share of the sale. For more, read our Terms of Use.

Yesterday Microsoft announced a new Xbox One S: the Xbox One S All Digital Edition, with a price of $249.99. The new machine looks like a regular Xbox One S, but if you try to put a disc in there, you’re out of luck. It only plays games from its storage drive. The disc drive is gone entirely.

The philosophy behind the new, disc-less Xbox One S is to give people a good deal. But is it a good deal? Microsoft told us yesterday its $249.99 suggested retail price “is $50 USD less than Xbox One S,” and it expects retailers will set prices accordingly once the Xbox One S All-Digital comes out May 7. So we’ll see. As it stands right now, there are already several ways to get an Xbox One S for $250 or less, and you get the added benefit of a disc drive capable of playing 4K UHD Blu-rays.

Here are the current Xbox One S bundles, including the All-Digital Edition, you can pick up right now for $249.99 or less:

Xbox One S All-Digital Edition for $249.99

On Walmart

The Xbox One S All-Digital comes with 1TB of storage and 3 downloadable games: Minecraft, Sea of Thieves, and Forza Horizon 3. It also includes 1-month Xbox Live Gold, is HDR capable and streams video at 4K. It most definitely doesn’t have a disc drive.

Xbox One S 1TB Minecraft Creators Bundle for $199

On Walmart

The ultimate Xbox One S bundle for Minecraft fans. This bundle includes the 1TB Xbox One S, Minecraft, 1,000 Minecoins for use in the marketplace, as well as the Greek Mythology Mash-up, Plastic Texture Pack, Skin Pack 1, and Villains Skin Pack, along with Adventurer’s Dream and Winter Mini-Games Festival, Relics of the Privateers, PureBDcraft Texture Pack, Pastel Skin Pack, and Wildlife Savanna.

Xbox One S Battlefield 5 Bundle for $199

On Walmart

If Minecraft isn’t your thing, the Battlefield V 1TB Xbox One S bundle is the same price. You get the console and the deluxe edition of Battlefield V for just under $200. That’s a great price even without a game, much less a deluxe edition.

Xbox One S Battlefield 5/Apex Legends/Controller Bundle for $248.99

On Walmart

For a dollar less than the Xbox One All-Digital Edition, you get a copy of Battlefield V, an extra wired Xbox One controller from PowerA, a gaming headset, and an Apex Legends Founders Pack token code. The 1TB Xbox One S does all the things an Xbox One S can do, but you get some great extras with this bundle, and it’s still a touch cheaper than preordering the Xbox One S All-Digital.

Xbox One S 1TB NBA 2K19 Bundle for $219.99

On Walmart

For significantly less than the preorder price for the Xbox One S All Digital Edition, you can get a 1TB Xbox One S with a copy of NBA 2K19. It has all the functionality of the All Digital Edition, but includes a disc drive capable of playing 4K UHD Blu-rays. It also streams 4K HDR content, as well.

Xbox One S 1TB Forza Horizon 4 Bundle for $248.97

On Walmart

The new All-Digital Edition of the Xbox One S includes a code for Forza Horizon 3, which is a fine game and deserves to be recognized as such. But it’s also came out in 2016, whereas Forza Horizon 4 came out in 2018. If you really want that disc drive and the latest Forza Horizon game, this bundle just barely beats the price of the All-Digital.
